Room II - Santa Anastasia Archaeological Area
Room II explores the Nuragic village of Santa Anastasia and ancient metallurgy, with reconstructed Roman tombs along the passage to Room III.
Room II illustrates the Nuragic village and the sacred well, identified at the beginning of the 20th century by Taramelli, near the Church of Santa Anastasia, and later excavated using scientific methods in more recent years.
Of particular interest, in addition to the famous askosoid jugs and bronze basins, is the collection of artifacts related to metalworking (tongs, molds, scraps of material for melting, fusion pots).
A corridor leading into Room III is flanked by an exhibition pit, in which two Roman tombs from the necropolis of Terr'e Cresia are reconstructed to scale.
A faithful reproduction of the pits and the associated bone, ceramic, glass, and metal artifacts is displayed in the same position where they were originally found.
Panels provide a layout of the funerary area (1st century BC - 3rd century AD) and related historical information, while the stands of the pits contain captions for the objects found in the tomb.
